Seven Steps to Sewing Success
Beginning Sewing for Adults


This class is designed to teach adults the basics of machine sewing using a commercial pattern. Class is perfect for the beginning sewist, but just as appropriate for anyone wanting a refresher course.  Topics covered and skills taught in the class include the following:

  • Selection and use of sewing tools and notions; for example, measuring tools, cutting instruments, pressing tools, machine needles and thread.

  • Recognition of the basic characteristics of fabric and how this affects your choice of project fabric.

  • Understanding patterns and following pattern sewing instructions.

  • Understanding and executing basic construction techniques.

  • Understanding how machine feet and attachments can improve your sewing.

Project is a pajama top and pants. Skills learned in this class provide a firm foundation for future sewing projects of all types.

Class meets seven consecutive Mondays. Instructional Fee: $14000

9:30AM -12:30PM

Evening Class:
Monday, April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10 and 17,
6:00PM—9:00PM
